The X Count rifle team began in 2010 and faced challenges from finding a place to practice to having the proper equipment. They moved frequently until securing a permanent home in 2015. Now they are dedicated to providing rifle instruction, promoting gun safety, aiming to preserve America’s Second Amendment rights.
Gregg Rice
Head Coach and President for The X Count, Gregg has deidicated more than 2 decades to the growth of youth shooting sports and the development of young athletes. Most recently he has been named the Assistant coach for the US Paralympic Rifle and Pistol Team. Additionally, Gregg is the only rifle coach licensed by the ISSF (International Shooting Sports Federation) currently in the US.

Daniel “Duck” Shanebrook
A former X Count Athlete (BD ’16), Daniel has been with the program since the beginning. Joining our staff as an assistant coach after graduating college in 2019 he brings his experience as an athlete and a student of Gregg for the last 14 years. Daniel also functions as the Director of Operations for The X Count, assisting Diane in whatever capacity is needed. When not coaching our athletes, he is training himself with with the intention of making the 2028 Olympic Team.
